  Grandpa Nicola's first spouse. She and grandpa met in Newark, NJ. Fidalma's Brother Giliberti Pasquale was a prompter in an opera house. Grandpa Nicola was a stage musician who performed in many different venues. They met in Newark, but Fidalma's brother was told to move to a better climate due to his health. They moved to Pen Argyl, PA and grandpa Nicola followed Fidalma there. He worked in the slate mines and subsequently married Fidalma. They moved to Ashtabula as relatives there told them there was good money to be made working the iron ore boats. It is believed Fidalma stepped on a rusty nail in her backyard in Ashtabula and developed gangrene. She lost her foot and then her leg and then passed of what was called blood poisoning.
